PokerStars & Full Tilt Regain Dot-Com Domains

The US Department of Jutice announced today that PokerStars and Full Tilt will regain control over their domains seized during last weeks indictment. US players will however not be allowed to get back on the cash grind and only players outside the USA may take advantage of the domains being available again.

As part of agreements, use of the domain names PokerStars.com and FullTiltPoker.com will be restored to facilitate the return of U.S. player funds.

PokerGob.com Partners with new 3D Poker Site

Hey guys,
some exciting news on PokerGob and the GobForum. PokerGob has partnered up with Betsharks.com - a brand new 3D Poker Site. Now, this has been in the works for a long time and the recent "Black Friday" events made all of us on PokerGob run very scared about the hard work running into cold water.

However, it's all good and it's now official that PokerGob joined forces with Betsharks. Now, what does it mean? Well for one, our new league will run exclusive on Betsharks.com with great spcecials and prizes coming up! We're hoping that we'll be able to have our first "firendly" tournaments by the end of this week. All Gobheadz are welcome to join the first tournament on the new site. Please check out the GobForum for details.

There is so much more to say.. but I haven't been sleeping much after doing all the updates on the PokerGob to reflect the new partnership. However, I posted a lot more info already on the GobForum - so head over there to find out more. One thing I need to add though.

Poker Site PKR reassures legality of their operations

If you haven't heard about the online poker worlds "black friday" yet, you've missed some dramatic news over the weekend. The US DoJ has shut down operations of major poker sites and seized their domains. See my other blogs for more info.

The above events have have lead to poker players from around the world running scared about their bankrolls and placing withdrawl requests to get their bankrolls out. This also affects sites not pursued by the DoJ indictment. Personally I think players are over reacting. Poker sites like PKR - Let's Play or 888poker have clearly stayed out of the US market, not allowing US residents to play on their cash tables.

PKR released a statement today to reassure their clients that their funds are save and that it will be business as usual for all PKR players. The indictment on PokerStars and Full Tilt does not affect PKR at all apart from a lot of new users registering now, after they've lost confidence in "the big guns" of the online poker world.

PokerStars and FullTilt Poker updates

Getting busy around my little blog for a change. No surprise, the recent poker news are now already being tagged as the "Black Friday" in online poker. PokerStars and FullTilt are now showing updated messages to their users, what you make of those?

PokerStars:

I like the part where it says "...due to developements beyond our control..." does this mean that PokerStars didn't know they are breaking the law in the US by offering deposit gateways working around local restrictions? In my personal opinion the statement as such is a joke. The same goes for "...for all customers outside the US it is business as usual...". This is just crap too, it can't be business as usual cause a large number of PokerStars players running scared about their bankroll.

888poker PR Manager comments on the recent poker news

Now that was one exiting night!

In case you've missed it, the F.B.I. and District Attorney seized several domains of major poker sites in the US. The companies in questions have been charged with multiple offences including money laundering, racketeering and breaking US laws.

All them news are rather disturbing. I feel sorry for my poker friends withing the US for basically being locked out of online poker from one day to the other. It's also said that sites like Full Tilt are already declining withdraw requests which leads to non US based players being a little scared too. The run for the banks has begun and a lot of players are uncomfortable keeping their money in their accounts on the affected poker sites.

Shortly after the news cracked 888poker PR Manager Jen published this blog on my888poker.com. 888poker.com has been known to be very strict to operate within their legal boundaries, here an extract of Jen's blog:

US District Attorney and FBI Seized Domains of Major Poker Sites!

Internet Domain Names Used By Online Poker Companies Seized

PREET BHARARA, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and JANICE FEDARCYK, the Assistant-Director-in-Charge of the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), announced the unsealing of an Indictment today charging eleven defendants, including the founders of the three largest Internet poker companies doing business in the United States – PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker (the “Poker Companies”)- with bank fraud, money laundering, and illegal gambling offenses.

The United States also filed a civil money laundering and in rem forfeiture complaint (the “Civil Complaint”) against the Poker Companies, their assets, and the assets of several payment processors for the Poker Companies. In addition, restraining orders were issued against more than 75 bank accounts utilized by the Poker Companies and their payment processors, and five Internet domain names used by the Poker Companies to host their illegal poker games were seized.

PKR Promo - Aces Cracked and 7-2 offsuit Win

PKR - Let's Play, one of my favorite poker sites annonced a special promotion for this weekend.

"Get your Aces Cracked" and receive a $50 bonus or take down a pot with 72 offsuit to claim a cash reward. Both challenges are very tempting and I guess I'll be doing my grind on PKR this weekend. I'll be playing the PokerGob "Enter the Matrix" tournaments of course. But besides that, PKR sounds like a plan to get a few extra $'s into my bankroll.

72 Promotion:
The hallmark of a truly great player is their ability to win with any two cards - so we're giving you a challenge as cheeky as it is rewarding. Take down any qualifying pot between now and midnight Sunday with 7-2 off-suit (AKA: 'the hammer') and you can claim an extra cash prize worth 5 times the big blind!

Aces Cracked Promotion:
Is there anything more exciting than peeling up pocket Aces? How about knowing you'll get paid even if you lose?! If your Aces don't take down the hand at showdown in any hold 'em ring game before midnight Sunday we'll give you up to $50*.

Head over to PKR - Let's Play! for more info!

Good luck at the tables!

Busted out 10th. on the 888poker iPad2 challenge

You gonna be like "10th? Wtf…what you wanna brag about?".

Hang on, hear me out.

I really belive I've played some of my best poker ever last night at the 888poker iPad2 challenge. For a small $2.20 buy-in you can win an iPad2. The first 2 of each tournament get one each. Finished 10th. of 345 players enrolled.

I've missed the first two tournaments getting the date wrong twice, and I've almost missed it again tonight… and I will play it again on Saturday. Yepp, I really want this thing and I swear I was "mind set" that night.

Like I mentioned above, I've played some of my best poker ever today. Already before the tournament I said to the misses "I'm gonna ship this" and that's how I've approached it. There was no "in the money" to aim for, no paid places.. nada. Top 2 or nada and this is the thing.. I kinda "felt the table, felt the tournament".

Poker Site - PKR - Let's play!

Hi guys, on my constant mission of finding the perfect grind I've recently gave "PKR – Let's play!" a swing. I wasn't to sure if I would like a 3D poker software with people making all sorts of funny animations and cheers… but – I DO!.

I have to admit that I like the site a lot. The idea of customising your player, showing your emotions on the table (or the emotions you want other players to "read") and the large range of room designs got me hooked.
